Velashape tightens skin and improves the appearance of cellulite through a cellulite and circumferential reduction treatment that combines bipolar radiofrequencies, infrared light, vacuum suction, and mechanical massage.  

  • The infrared light and radiofrequency energies heat with precision dermal and hypodermal tissue in the treatment area

  • This boosts metabolism of fat cells and reduces their number. In this way it reduces cellulite

  • Mechanical massage rollers gently knead the treated area

You will see immediate results after your first VelaShape treatment.  Your skin will appear tighter, firmer, and smoother.  After six to eight weeks, results become most apparent after you have undergone about six treatments.  

What to expect in your treatment experience:

  1. During your free consultation, Dr. Kim will review and address any questions or concerns about the procedure and anticipated outcome. 

  2. Photographs will be taken of the treatment areas to analyze and compare the before and after results. 

  3. During your treatment sessions, you will lie down on our medical treatment table and our medical professional staff member applies a lotion-like spray to the area to be treated. 

  4. Dr. Kim will then place the VelaShape machine gently on your skin. You will experience a persistent rolling massage sensation that slowly begins to warm.  You may also feel slight pressure as the area is massaged.  It has been described as a warm, relaxing deep-tissue massage. 

  5. A typical treatment session usually lasts 20 to 40 minutes.

  6. After your treatment session, the treated area may feel slightly warm and tender for a few hours.  You may experience mild bruising and redness, but this usually goes away after a few days.  In rare cases, very loose skin may scab or blister.

 

For best results, six VelaShape treatments are recommended.  They should be spaced about a week apart.  Most medical professionals recommend that you get monthly maintenance treatments for the first three months after your initial six treatments. They also recommend regular treatments every three months thereafter.

 

Clinical trials have shown that people undergoing VelaShape treatments experienced half an inch to a full three inches of circumferential reduction in treated areas after four treatments.  What’s more, their cellulite shrank by up to 63%.  Another clinical study showed that 85% of patients saw their thighs shrink up to three inches.

Velashape is not recommended if you have a pacemaker, metal implant in the area to be treated, or if you’re a new mother, you must wait three to six months and have stopped nursing before you may undergo a VelaShape treatment.
